What a Weekend!
Two AerobicMonster.co.uk Athletes out on full IRON Distance racing last Weekend, months of hard preparation, Training and dedication from themselves and with avid support from their families, and both had races of a lifetime and produced the results they were after.
Calum McIntyre had been training for the ThorXtri Extreme Triathlon for a year with us and he had a great race!
"The race went really well! I finished 44th and in 15hrs 20mins. Seems quite slow for an ironman distance. However the swim is in a fjord against the current, most peoples watches told us that we swam 5km! hence why I took 1hr 58 which was actually an ok time compared to most believe it or not.
Bike I took steady with all the hills but was quite pleased with 7hrs 45mins with 7500ft climbing. The marathon I ended up being just over 5 hrs and found it really difficult, it was 27.5 miles but a lot flatter near the coast. All in all a great day. "
Here's a video snippet of the day - looked awesome!
Meanwhile, at IRONMAN Copenhagen, Aerobic Monsters Jeremy Cornuau was looking forward to a great race. All data metrics from Training Peaks were showing that somewhere near peak form could be expected and Jeremy said he felt good prior to the race.
He absolutely smashed out a PB despite suffering from 2 punctures on the damp Bike course with a time of 10:33:53, beating his previous best at the distance of 10:55:00. Without the punctures a sub 10 hour IM was on the cards.
We are both targeting a sub 9:30 for next year!!!
